Fun Times with Snow!!
Yesterday was filled with lots of fun! Day 10 of cancellations due to snow, so we had yet another day to find something to do. We are beyond ready for spring! My mom arrived back to Indiana after visiting my brother, Dirk, Karen, and new nephew, Kaleb in Florida, so we attempted the roads and picked her up from the airport. We then ventured over to Carroll High School to go sledding with friends! What a blast it was! Thanks to Mike, Nikki, and Madelyn for inviting us to tag along with you. Following that adventure we met up with my mom, Harry, and grandparents for birthday dinners at the Rib Room. (We were a tad behind in celebrating Harry and my Grandpa's birthday due to so much going on lately.) It was very yummy and I captured a few pictures from the evening.

A LOT BEHIND...SORRY!
The months of January and February have left a lot to be desired! My lack of photographs and updating have been plagued by hospital visits and total exhaustation from just trying to stay caught up! However, I think I am ready to be present again!

An attempt to get the three grandchildren together for a picture...one is now missing, Kaleb (Dirk and Karen's new baby. Can't wait to meet him.)

After 50 plus days of waiting for progress with my Aunt Vicky, she is finally home recovering. She looks wonderful! We are so thankful for God blessing us with a miracle when things looked rather grim. The recovery/rehab will take a long time, but everyday is a small step forward.

Snow and ice have been a rather major distraction for school taking place these past few weeks. McKenna and I, unfortunately, have had 9 cancellations due to snow, and it isn't looking promising for us tomorrow as 5-10 inches are predicted for this evening. Our summer is rapidly being shortened with all this snow. We are scheduled to get out now June 3, 2011. (Thank goodness we were originally suppose to get out May 20, 2011...this has saved us from going to school until the middle of June.)
As for the kids...well, they are all happy, healthy, and doing well. Knock on wood, we have avoided every bout of sickness that seems to be going around. McKenna started swim lessons at the Y, which I have neglected to put her in as we have self-taught her up to this point. This is something that she wanted to do, so we casually gave in. I forgot the camera so I will post pictures next week when we go back. She really liked them, but said after the lesson was over, "Mom, I DID NOT sign up for cold water. That is ridiculous!" I had to chuckle. She is growing up so fast and acting so much older. Reality is setting in.
Allison continues to be busy with show choir which leads us all over the state every weekend. DeKalb has a wonderful show choir and won first place last weekend at Lafayette Jeff. She has an 18th birthday this weekend, so she is looking forward to that.
Dane continues with college life. He, too, has a birthday next week and will be 20. Lots of celebrating will be happening this month.
Doug and I finally have the opportunity to rekindle our marriage as basketball is officially over for the year. The year was by no means as successful as he would have liked, but he will continue to try to build that program.

Below are pictures of us playing in the snow during the "Blizzard of 2011" and some of one of McKenna's birthday parties from the end of December.
